Unraveling Hokkaido and Creating the Future

Description
The world is facing various social issues represented by the SDGs, and Japan as a whole is also facing various social issues such as the declining birthrate, aging society, and regional disparities that are frequently discussed. Hokkaido is actually at the forefront of such social issues. Hokkaido is called an "advanced region" because its population is declining 10 years faster than the rest of Japan, and it is also facing issues such as a shrinking economy and a decline in infrastructure, transportation, and services for residents. It is precisely because we are in a region with advanced issues that we can open up the future! Rather than being pessimistic, we see this as an opportunity for the future, and we are actively utilizing technological innovations to strengthen inter-regional networks and eliminate regional disparities, as part of an all-Hokkaido initiative. Furthermore, Hokkaido has unlimited hidden potential! For example, there are plans to utilize its abundant renewable energy potential to more than triple the amount of electricity used in Hokkaido alone in the future! The day may not be far off when this abundant energy will be delivered throughout Japan and contribute to solving energy problems. Plans are also underway to take advantage of the cool climate to build semiconductor factories and data centers. Hokkaido is currently in the midst of an exciting transformation! As a pioneer in electrical safety, we have been delivering electrical safety and security throughout Hokkaido. We want to create something new by taking advantage of such experience and our network that connects all parts of Hokkaido! A business that solves local problems and enriches people's lives. Why don't you join us in unraveling Hokkaido's challenges and possibilities, and together we will create a business that will create the future? Hokkaido Electrical Safety Association was established as an incorporated foundation in March 1966, and became a general incorporated foundation in April 2011, celebrating its 50th anniversary in March 2016. As a pioneer in electric safety management, we are committed to providing services to ensure safe and reliable use of electricity by our customers, and as a "registered survey organization," we are also committed to safety surveys to ensure the safety of electric facilities that receive electricity at low voltage, such as homes and stores. Based in offices throughout Hokkaido, we continue to protect the electrical safety and security of approximately 3.92 million homes and stores that use low-voltage electricity and 23,500 facilities that receive high-voltage electricity. Hokkaido is known as a region with advanced issues, where social problems such as widening regional disparities, mobility issues, lack of successors in primary industries, and aging society are becoming apparent early on due to the region's characteristics of wide dispersion, snowy and cold climate. Without resolving these issues, the region's existence is expected to be in jeopardy. Smart city concept to eliminate regional disparities by actively utilizing technological innovation, strengthening inter-regional networks through transportation infrastructure development and digitalization, and creating new industries in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, and tourism, We are aiming to solve issues through all-Hokkaido cooperation among industry, academia, and government. At the same time, Hokkaido has much potential and promise in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, abundant tourism resources, and vast land. In the energy field, the development and introduction of renewable energy is being actively pursued in order to shift to a de-oxygenated society and to counter international conflicts and geopolitical risks, and Hokkaido has plans to develop large-scale power sources, including offshore wind power generation. The scale of development is more than three times the demand of Hokkaido, and there are plans to transmit the surplus to large demand areas, making Hokkaido an energy base in addition to Japan's existing food base. In recent years, the cool climate is attracting the construction of semiconductor plants and data centers. The industrial structure, which had been primarily based on primary industries, is showing signs of change, and Hokkaido is now at a major turning point. We, too, have been a pioneer in electrical safety management and have delivered our services throughout Hokkaido. As the environment surrounding electricity changes, not only with various future changes in life in Hokkaido, but also with the spread of renewable energy and the replacement of various types of energy with electricity, our work will also change dramatically. We do not just want to watch the world change, we also want to change and create new businesses that will contribute to Hokkaido's future. What social issues can we approach with our resources, such as the technology of our group of electrical safety professionals, our business bases throughout Hokkaido, and the relationships of trust we have built with our customers over the years? Why don't you join us in thinking about what kind of innovative technologies, ideas, and services we can use to solve social issues and create the Hokkaido of the future?
