Description
It is as if we are gently handing a compass to a ship full of children who are embarking on an adventure into the future.
With this in mind, we hope to sow the seeds of entrepreneurship education so that children can firmly grasp the compass for the future in today's era of waves of change.
Entrepreneurship education is not just about nurturing entrepreneurs; it is about fostering the ability to think and act independently in response to any social change. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) recognizes the importance of this education and is promoting it, but there are still many issues to be addressed in this education that has just begun.
Therefore, we would like to create a new educational program for elementary, middle, and high school students with the help of “college students who have learned entrepreneurship.
We want university students to learn more by passing on what they have learned to the next generation. And we want elementary, middle, and high school students to feel more familiar with entrepreneurship through interaction with university students, and to develop hope for the future by learning and growing.
And by disseminating this activity widely, we hope to make more people aware of and involved in entrepreneurship education. We want to move forward, one step at a time, for the future of our children. Why don't you join us and start doing what you can to sow the seeds for the future?
Entrepreneurship education” is generally viewed as a course on business, economics, and management aimed at a specific group of people in order to create entrepreneurs. However, “entrepreneurship” is considered to be “the ability and feeling to see change as an opportunity, to act on one's own initiative, and to create value. This is different from “business education” that simply creates businesses, and in today's rapidly changing world, it is considered a necessary skill for all people.
Entrepreneurship education began in 2014 with a project called the “EDGE Program” by the MEXT. In 2023, the EDGE-PRIME Initiative will begin, expanding the entrepreneurship education that began at universities to elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. Entrepreneurship education is being introduced to elementary and junior high school students in off-campus social education settings, and to high school students in comprehensive inquiry classes.
Opportunities for entrepreneurship education are expanding, but there are still many possibilities. For elementary and junior high school students, there are many things that can be done, such as introducing, developing, and spreading entrepreneurship education in school education, developing programs for teachers, etc. For high school students, there are many things that can be done, such as providing more advanced programs, collaborating with the community, and addressing the shortage of support personnel. There is also a growing number of startups that are solving these issues, and there is growing momentum to spread entrepreneurship education through collaboration among industry, government, and academia.
We would like to create a new entrepreneurship education program for elementary, junior high, and high school students together with university students who have received entrepreneurship education. University students who have experienced entrepreneurship education themselves will fully demonstrate their abilities and provide new experiences that will change the very nature of education for elementary, junior high, and high school students. We hope that university students will also have the opportunity to grow through this experience and become entrepreneurs themselves. Let's work together to create an entrepreneurship education program that will enable all people to take the initiative, exercise their creativity, and live their lives in their own way!
